Fruit and Vegetable Processing Facility

The fruit and vegetable processing mini-facility at AISI College was opened on 6 July 2009 with funding from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Government of Romania.
The facility is equipped with modern technological equipment, including a fruit and vegetable washing unit, jar washing basin, vacuum cooking machine, sterilization autoclave, fruit and vegetable pulping machine, filling (dosing) unit, and jar sealing machine. With the support of UNDP, a 18-ton capacity cold storage facility was also established in 2010.
The facility produces up to 20 types of products, including fruit purees, jams, preserves, pickled products, ready-to-eat canned foods, and fruit juices.
In this field, the United Nations also introduced vocational retraining courses, allowing trainees to combine learning with hands-on industrial practice at the facility.
The fruit and vegetable processing mini-facility also serves as a training base for students enrolled in the Vocational Education Programme in Fruit and Vegetable Processing.
